How to play

Mouse or touch

Click keys and buttons, and drag or scroll the knobs. To keep a button held while you play keys, right-click it, or press and hold it on a touch screen.

MIDI keyboard

Press Connect MIDI. Your keyboard plays the selected track.

Route by MIDI channel instead (tracks 1 to 3 on channels 1 to 3, drums on 10, visuals on 16)

Things to try

Press PLAY for the demo song.
Tap HOME on the TRACKS screen to open the visualizer, then turn SELECT.
Pick SCREEN, the last mode, to send the display itself as the video.

How it works

This is Synthesthetic's actual firmware, built from the same C source code, compiled to WebAssembly and run in your browser's audio thread. Only the hardware is simulated, so anything that needs USB, like the editor or the installer, needs a real FM-1.

The 3D model is adapted from FM1.quest by hericdk (GPL-3.0) and drawn with three.js. The idea of running the firmware in a page comes from FM1.quest and sabliran's sloop-web-emu.
